My Own Experience:

Setting up the DK1 was very easy. Maybe because the product is more mature now and I installed it on a brand new PC with all up-to-date drivers.
I just plugged in the cables and made some adjustments to my video settings (clone screen basicaly).

I had much, much more trouble installing my MSI R9 290 gaming in my new i7 PC. The PC i bought (Mycom MP Premium Power i7 4790) was cheap so it has a cheap motherboard....
This has two disadvantages, first the videocard did hardly fit and there is only one PCI Express slot so i can not Sli two cards together later on. The card did not respond at first but when i connected both power connectors (6 and 8 pin) and connected the screen (dvi) it worked. Key was to hook up the screen... without it you do get the beeps when booting so even hook it up when testing. The 450 wat powersupply appears to be enough to power this videocard but take this into consideration.
Second the mainboard has only two memoryslots and both have a 2gb memorybank... I was planning to upgrade it with one 4mb but have to reconsider this now.
All in all the setup does do the job now and i am not disappointed with the performance of the videocard although it is not a top-end card.

The first applications look nice but the wow-factor is gone quickly and I am now looking for some good gameplay like flight simulation, adventures or FPS. Looking forward to Elite:Dangerous.
